Content Router 2.0 Architecture
Process content using publisher/subscriber model.
High performance and scalable distribution network ensures content is where you need it when you need it. Customize your content processing workflow to suite your business needs. Meet changing demands from sophisticated distribution networks based on a flexible publisher/subscriber model.
Publishers and Subscribers Coordinate Workflow.
CAStor's Content Router engine consists of publishers and subscribers that coordinate the workflow within the content distribution network. Publishers collect a list of all objects in a cluster and monitor's the objects' metadata. Subscribers pick up lists from remote Publishers for processing and forward the instructions to the local storage nodes for execution.
Flexible Content Processing
Snap in third-party content processing. New!
Incorporate value-added services to your workflow using best in class, third-party applications. Process content using your choice of virus scanners, indexing and search engines metadata queries, compression, and encryption applications. The Subscriber API in 2.0 has been updated for increased flexibility in content processing.

Smart content distribution.
CAStor's publisher/subscriber messaging model allows for greater scalability and more dynamic network topology. Configure subscribers to replicate over distance for disaster recovery (DR) or send specific content to affiliates or branch offices. Use multi-master replication for mirroring data between two or more primary clusters.
Design subscribers for customized processing.
Subscribers can be designed to express an interest in one or more types of object rules and policies. For example, create a cluster with an archive subscriber that is only interested in receiving lists of inactive content. Customize processing workflow to suite your specific business needs.
Scalable Architecture
No database for improved scaling and performance. New!
The data store used by the Content Router for storing lists of UUIDs and events has been redesigned and simplified for improved scaling and performance.
Fully Integrated with CAStor.
The Content Router is a fully integrated and scalable drop-in addition to CAStor storage clusters. Content routing nodes run on standard x86 hardware in clusters with 3 or more storage servers.
Now runs on Red Hat. New!
Content Router 2.0 can now be installed on servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
